Lead Pet Food Bank Volunteer Training Shift 2

Expired

Description

**Once completed you will be able to sign up for Lead Pet Food Bank Volunteer Positions**

Lead Volunteers will help elevate the volunteer experience at HSC, provide additional support to staff for training new volunteers and help build a culture within the program to deepen volunteer retention. They must show leadership skills, be eager and interested in helping others, be knowledgeable about HSC practices/protocols, be a team player and overall positive role model. A lead volunteer will provide onsite support to staff and the volunteer program. This volunteer should be prepared to provide direction, advice and oversight to other volunteers while gaining leadership experience as a Lead Volunteer.

Volunteers will need to complete two training shifts before the lead opportunity is open. Training will occur during pet food bank; on training days you will likely not deliver unless we are short staffed for delivery. In that case, it is optional to deliver, and you will load your vehicle after the other volunteers have left.

Training will consist of the Community Outreach Coordinator observing you train new volunteers, bag necessary items (food or cans), and finding specialty items for volunteers.

If you are already signed up to deliver on a date you want to train, you may sign up for both. Be mindful that it will be a longer day. If there are dates that are not open but work better for your schedule, please email Via at aspencer@humanecharlotte.org with the dates, she may be able to accommodate.
