Be part of providing access to high-volume, high-quality, low-cost spay/neuter services in the most humble of ways: help the Clinic Services team with the laundry that is generated as we do surgeries. Through these spay/neuter efforts, HSC supports the community in reducing the unwanted pet population and thereby reduces our community's euthanasia rate.
PLEASE REPORT TO CLINIC SERVICES LOBBY FOR THIS POSITION. This laundry position is different from helping with the shelter laundry!
MUST BE 18 years old
Description of the duties:
Assist the HSC Clinic Service Team by overseeing laundry; volunteers will help us keep our washing machine and dryer running with loads of surgical and animal care laundry. They'll also help fold and put away the items.
Ability to operate a washer and dryer and fold laundry (we can teach you how to use our machines if you aren't familiar with such domestic bliss- all levels of "laundry skill" needed and welcome!).
Volunteers will need to be able to tolerate handling potentially smelly or soiled items (including laundry impacted by urine/pee, feces/poop, blood, or vomit; disposable gloves provided).
Volunteers will also need the attention to detail to ensure every item is fully dry before folding and storing.
Ability to appreciate a humble job done well appreciated.
Volunteer support provided:
-One-on-one instruction will be provided by a member of the HSC Clinic Services Team.
-Gloves will be provided for the handling of messy items.
