**Please show up at 7:45 out of respect for the trainer and your fellow trainees as this training will start promptly at 8:00 AM. This training requires the full amount of time to go over the vast amount of material. If you arrive later than 8:00 AM, you may be asked to reschedule your training.**
Train to become a qualified dog walker! Qualified dog walkers can walk dogs, take them on Adventure Tails, and sign up for other animal-centric volunteer opportunities!
This is shift #2 of the 2 training shifts required to become a qualified dog walker.
During shift #2, you’ll be able to practice what you learned in shift #1 and take out a few dogs with the help of a Lead or a staff member!
Prior to your shift please read through the dog walking standard operating procedures. CLICK HERE TO DOWNLOAD.

*It is advised that you wear boots, waterproof shoes, or shoes you don’t mind getting wet or muddy.
*After you have successfully completed training shift #2, either add the “Qualified Dog Walker” qualification to your profile OR email the VPM
(volunteer@humanecharlotte.org) to do so for you. When your qualification has been approved, you will be able to sign up for dog walking shifts, Adventure Tails (recommend 3 walking shifts prior), and dog playgroup.

Note: If a new dog walker is not comfortable or a Lead Dog walker/staff member is not comfortable with the trainee being approved, ongoing sessions may be required.
