Welcome Humane Society of Charlotte Volunteers!
Welcome to our new Volunteer platform! Our goal is to make volunteering as easy as possible with HSC, below is a short guide to our new system.
Dashboard
When you log in, you will see your Volunteer Profile. This screen will have all of your contact information that we had on file with Volgistics, or the contact information you provided upon applying to volunteer with us. If we need any additional information from you, it will be highlighted here. Make sure your contact information is up to date! You can also toggle through the tabs (Track Hours, Volunteer Schedule, My Files, Opportunity Responses, My Teams, Qualifications, and Inbox) to see all of your activity within this new site.
Your "interests" are just that, topics you have identified as being interested in; for example, if you have chosen "animal care", you will be notified any time we post an "animal care"-related volunteer opportunity!
The programs you have "fanned" work similarly; for example, if you have "fanned" our Community Outreach Program, you will be notified any time we post a volunteer opportunity for that program.
Opportunities
Selecting "Opportunities" on the menu to the left will bring you to all of our currently available volunteer opportunities. You can filter through these opportunities in many ways to easily find the best volunteer opportunity for you! Please let us know if you have any questions about finding opportunities.
Once you've found an opportunity you are interested in, click "view details" under the listing. This will bring you to the description of the opportunity, what program the opportunity is with, and the dates/times of each shift. It will also note how many spots are open for each shift.
Click "sign up individually" next to the date/time of the shift you'd like to volunteer for! If the opportunity requires a qualification for that opportunity, you will be asked to confirm that you've met that qualification. Once a member of our staff has approved your qualification, you'll receive an email confirming your qualification and can sign up for those volunteer shift(s)!
- If you are not qualified for that shift, you will receive an email stating that you need to "resubmit" after completing the qualification. This is most common for dog-related and veterinary-related volunteer shifts, which require prior training. Please sign up for those training opportunities on Galaxy Digital or contact Danielle (volunteer@humanecharlotte.org) for more details.
Events
This is where you'll find volunteer opportunities for fundraising events in our community at breweries, bars and restaurants, festivals, etc. In most of these event volunteer roles, you will serve as an ambassador for HSC working an informational table and other duties as assigned. This is also where you can sign up volunteer opportunities at our yearly events like Pet Palooza, Ties & Tails Gala etc.
Programs
Here, you can learn about each Program at HSC and the volunteer opportunities each program offers . You can "fan" a program to get notifications for that program's volunteer opportunities!
