General description of the duties/work: This position is for volunteers interested in enriching the lives of our ringworm cats and ensuring they have a clean space to recover medically during their stay at HSC. Enrichment is a crucial element in maintaining the welfare of our animals, especially those that are quarantined in isolation for longer periods of time like our ringworm cats.
The Ringworm Cat Kennel Cleaning & Socialization Volunteer will be in charge of cleaning the kennels for and socializing with each of our ringworm cats. Volunteers interested in this position will be required to attend a training session to learn about proper cleaning protocol, disease management and appropriate forms of socialization for our ringworm cats.
Volunteers can meet their assigned ACA in the front Lobby so that they can open the door to the cat ringworm area.
Qualifications: Must complete Ringworm Cat Kennel Cleaning & Socialization Training Session. Must not have any allergies towards cats or aversions to wearing PPE. *Please note: ringworm is a zoonotic disease and is contagious to both humans and other animals so sanitary protocols must be followed extremely accurately for this position*
