Description:
This training session is for individuals who are interested in being a Public Dog Training Assistant (DTA). This position will assist the Dog Trainer with public dog training classes. Duties include: greeting participants in a friendly and enthusiastic manner, supporting the Dog Trainer, and helping to ensure the safety of the people and dogs in the class. These classes will occur multiple times throughout the week, including weekends, mornings, and evenings. We will be going over basic dog training methods and techniques, getting hands-on experience with training equipment, and learning about dog body language. We will also go over your role and expectations as a Dog Training Assistant.

Qualification Steps:
1. Fill out the Public Dog Training Assistance Group Classes Quiz : Public Dog Training Quiz
(must receive 80% or above on the multiple-choice section and fully complete the questionnaire to be considered).
2. Within 3-5 business days, you will be contacted by our Dog Trainer (Destiny Cordeiro) and the next steps will be discussed.
3. If approved, you will be invited to attend our Public Dog Training Assistant training session(virtual).
4. Qualifications will be added to your Galaxy Digital account so that you may sign up to volunteer with our public dog training classes!
Please note: the DTA training session is held virtually over Zoom. If invited, please register for a “shift” below. You will be emailed the link to join the session the day prior to our scheduled shift.
